Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education

Dr. Rieffannacht’s career in education began as a high school math teacher prior to joining the State College Area School District as the Educational Record Manager.  She served as both an Assistant Principal and Principal for the Huntingdon Area School District prior to becoming the Director of Education.  Dr. Rieffannacht served in the role of Director of Education, which included responsibilities of an Assistant Superintendent.  She earned her Bachelors of Science degree from Lock Haven University, Masters of Science degree from Wilkes University, and her Doctorate of Education from Liberty University in May of 2016. She has experience in higher education as an adjunct professor for both Wilkes University and Wilson College where she taught courses related to instructional technology and hybrid learning environments.  While her career began at the secondary level, Dr. Rieffannacht has extensive knowledge of early literacy and mathematical instructional practices as a result of her experiences.  This experience in working with elementary and secondary curriculum teams of all subjects will support the development of written curriculum that is aligned from kindergarten through grade twelve. Her leadership will be instrumental in achieving the District’s comprehensive planning goals. She brings knowledge and experience of PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) as this was the topic of her doctoral thesis.   Dr. Rieffannacht and her husband, Nelson, have three children, Judah, Ryker, and Axel.
